The golf
Dating all the way back to 1927, this 9-hole course is set in the rugged Hill Country alongside the South Llano River and features Cedar Creek, which runs throughout the layout and comes into play on three holes. Over its now 76-year history, the facility has received two major improvements, one of which was a project to convert the greens from sand to grass back in the 1980s. The land is owned by the Hill Country Fair Association and is leased to the Junction Golf Association, which keeps the course in good condition.
You might drive the green on No. 2, a 257-yard par 4, but you’ll be faced with many challenging shots here. One of them is the tee shot over water on the 223-yard, par 3 hole 9.
We recommend that you plan your trip to Junction to coincide with one of the 8-10 two-day tournaments that are held annually. Food is included with the entry fee, and the friendly locals can help you negotiate the unfamiliar course layout. |
