The golf
Big Cedar is a nice place to play. Hundreds of sprinkler heads have been added to improve fairways and greens. When in doubt on club selection, play the shorter club and keep your approach below the hole, providing the chance for an easier up and down from below the hole.
The course has undergone quite a bit of construction recently, including the addition of new cart paths, and the removal of the old 9th hole (much to the chagrin of local golfers). The back nine is short and tight, and features a beautiful 10th hole that wraps around a lake.
The best feature at Big Cedar is the unbelievable hospitality of the staff. You never know what you might come across when facing the small town “country club” as an outsider, but this place is fun because the people are friendly. |

| Getting there From Teague, go north on Hwy 84 drive 4.5 miles to the course. The course is on the right-hand side. It is almost the same distance from Fairfield. |
